Light energy from IPL is absorbed by the pigment in the hair, It quickly turns to heat which then kills the growing cells that make the hair.

Both IPL and laser hair removal uses light, and in turn heat, to destroy the hair from the root. The main difference between IPL hair removal and laser hair removal is the light spectrum used. IPL uses a wide range of wavelengths of light to produce a single white flash, whereas lasers use one wavelength of light which creates a single beam.

One of the biggest advantages of IPL over other types of laser is that it is far less painful. Most customers explain the feeling as a warm sensation on the skin.

Our handsets have been designed to be suitable for at home use, so is gentle on skin. This means that is suitable for sensitive skin types too!

It can be used at 16 and older.

There have been numerous worldwide studies that demonstrate the safety of IPL for hair removal. Due to this fact, it has become an extremely popular safe and effective method of hair removal at home and in clinics.

It is capable of 600000 flashes, that means that will last around 20 years.

The epilSense epilator comes with a preloaded cartridge of approximately 600000 pulses. You will never finish using all the pulses.

Between treatments you should only shave when required. You should never wax, pluck, or epilate as these hair removal methods removes the entire root, which is what absorbs the light during the treatment.

Yes, it is important to remove the hair on the surface of the skin before each treatment, while keeping the root of the hair intact. For this reason we recommend shaving as opposed to waxing or plucking the hairs, or using chemical depilatory creams. All of these methods remove the follicle, thus compromising the results. If there is hair on the surface of the skin, it will simply burn the hair off and not get to the follicle, leaving the treatment ineffective.

Our handset is suitable for all but the darkest skin tones. Please refer to our skin tone chart below to see whether or not our handset is suitable for you.

IPL targets melanin in your hair which absorbs the light's energy, and therefore IPL is may not be so effective on very light blonde, red, or grey coloured hair.

Although no evidence stating that IPL has negative effects on pregnant or breastfeeding women exists, we still cannot recommend using our handset if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, just as a precaution.

No, you should not IPL over very dark freckles (although light freckles are okay) or moles, dark brown or black spots, (such as large freckles, birth marks, moles or warts), nipples, genitals or lips.

No, you should not IPL over tattoos or permanent makeup, although going around tattoos is fine.

Treating any area with the epilSense device that is dark in colour or has more pigment can result in adverse effects such as burns, blisters, and skin colour changes (hyper - or hypo-pigmentation). You may also wish to cover the area with material that will not absorb the light such as a white cloth or white medical tape during treatments to avoid accidentally flashing over the area.

This IPL hair removal device is not suitable for artificially tanned, or skin with sun overexposure during the passed 4 weeks. If you have brown or dark brown skin, the IPL light will not work for you either.
Please check the suitable skin tone and hair color before purchase.

Please also wait at least 48 hours to tan after using your handset. Artificial tan should also not be on your skin whilst using your handset.

Yes, epilSense device is suitable for man and women.

Yes, this is completely normal. As the light energy is heating the hair, you may smell a slight burning but this just means there may be some hairs that have not been shaved. Please ensure that you have prepped the skin correctly, and that the skin is completely shaved before starting your session.

Most customers begin to notice a reduction of hair after just 3-4 treatments, with complete results after 12 treatments. However, results vary from person to person.

We recommend using your handset twice a week for the first 1- 4 weeks. After this period we recommend using your handset for 4 - 8 weeks once a week. After, we recommend using it once every 2 weeks for 8 weeks. If you would like to maintain hairless, smooth skin, we recommend using your handset once every 2 to 3 months, or as needed.

Typical power levels to use during a full hair growth cycle:

Power levels 1 to 4: Two weeks apart

Power levels 5 to 7: Four weeks apart

Power level 8: Treat as needed until desired results are achieved

Maintenance: from time to time some upkeep may be needed if growth is still visible.

Average results are seen after 3 or 4 sessions. What you should start to see are ""bald spots"" or patchiness in the treated area. Maintenance may be required from time to time if you see new hair growth.

The epilSense hair removal device does disable hair so it stops regrowth, however, maintenance is required to treat new hair growth just like any professional treatments.

The hair you are seeing after a treatment session may either be hair that was disabled and is now going through the ejection phase or new hair growth that was dormant that is now active and needs to be treated in the next session.

No, you should not use this device.

You can use your handset on your entire body, including your Brazilian (not full Brazilian) and face (just be sure to not get too close to your eyes), don’t use it over nipples and lips and very dark freckles (although light freckles are okay), moles or black spots.

We do not recommend treating the genital area but consider completing a full bikini - which will be very close, but not a full brazilian.

The epilSense hair removal device can be used from the cheekbones down.

For the first time, you should try from the lowest gear and then gradually increase the power,. It is not possible to use 7 or 8 directly, which may cause discomfort.

The hair removal device will only flash after 90° vertical contact with the skin after normal start up. Do not press the launch button in the air.

Our handset is equipped with a sensor that does not allow to emit the flash if the device is not in contact with the skin but we suggest to wear sunglasses to protect your eyes from the glare emitted by the flash.

If the light of the epilator is on but the head isn’t flashing, remove the lamp and wipe it with a cotton cloth before reinstalling.

If the epilator does not illuminate, there may be a problem with the adapter. You can use the laptop power supply to connect.

Always ensure the treatment area is completely flat covering the area you are treating. Lighting may be a factor. Stay away from overhead lights, lamps or windows that allow direct light in which can create a shadow and read your skin tone being dark.

Our handsets come with a 110~240Vworking voltage power supply

(suitable for all the countries in the world) with the native plug of your region.
